Driving for a Cure Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision launches inaugural Golf Day

Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is proud to launch its inaugural Golf Day, taking place on Friday 30 October 2026 at the renowned Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club – one of Australia’s highest-ranked golf courses and host venue for the 2027 Men’s Australian Open.

Delivered in partnership with Drummond Golf and hosted by AFL great and Maddie’s Vision co-founder Nick Riewoldt, the event brings together business leaders, golf enthusiasts and supporters for a day of championship golf and premium hospitality, while raising vital funds to advance Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome research and support patients and families across Australia.

Riewoldt said the inaugural Golf Day was an opportunity to unite the community behind a cause that remains deeply personal to his family:

“Following the loss of my sister Maddie to the Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome, Aplastic Anaemia, our family was determined to make a difference for others facing these conditions. Over the past 11 years, we’ve seen what’s possible when people get behind this cause – research has advanced, new opportunities for treatment are emerging and families now have access to dedicated support that simply wasn’t there when Maddie was diagnosed. Driving for a Cure is an opportunity to build on that progress while enjoying a great day of golf on one of the best courses in the country. Every person who joins us is helping drive research forward and bringing us closer to better treatments and a cure.”

Guests will enjoy a light breakfast before an 8.00am shotgun start, with the day played in a fun and inclusive Gentsomes format. On-course highlights will include a Hole-in-One Challenge, offering players the chance to win a Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 Special Edition, Beat the Pro with Australasian PGA Tour champion Matt Griffin, Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competitions, and the Coopers Party Hole.

Following play, guests will gather in the clubhouse for a premium two-course luncheon MC’d by Australian actor and comedian Lehmo, featuring prize presentations, a live auction and stories highlighting the impact of Maddie’s Vision.

Over the past eleven years, Maddie’s Vision has committed more than $10 million across 40 cutting-edge research projects, including two clinical trials involving more than 400 patients. Researchers funded by the organisation have gone on to secure an additional $37.9 million in external funding, significantly amplifying the reach and long-term impact of their work.

Maddie’s Vision also established Australia’s first Centre of Research Excellence in Bone Marrow Biology and delivers Australia’s only National Support Services dedicated to Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes, providing education, resources and emotional support to more than 200 patients and families.

Every drive on 30 October will help fund life-saving research and vital support, bringing us closer to better treatments, better outcomes and, ultimately, a cure for Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
