Brisbane Golf Guide

Brisbane is on the global sport radar now it’s been named as host of city the 2032 Olympics. For us, the capital of the sunshine state has always been a favoured stay and play golf destination. It offers a great mix of social courses, elite member only clubs, modern driving range facilities and has plenty of drawcard dining venues too. Trust us, you’ll be needing that good food as fuel to step out for a round or two in the gorgeous Queensland sun.

Indooroopilly Golf Club offers more than a great golf experience. Set in a peaceful parkland location bordering the Brisbane River, the club offers 36 holes of championship golf to challenge and excite.

The clubs SWING ‘Starting Women In Golf’ program offers 8 weeks of fun and interactive group lessons. SWING was established in January 2019 and since that time, Indooroopilly Golf Club has welcomed more than 250 women to the game of golf. Nice work!

Nestled in the foothills of Carindale, only 15 minutes from Brisbane’s CBD and 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport, the Pacific Golf Club championship course is the perfect destination for an enjoyable game of golf. The club has a strong history of supporting women’s golf as demonstrated by the long running Pacific Ladies membership base.

Fact; Pacific was Brisbane’s 12th course and by June 1962, there were 719 Members and 253 Associates (Ladies). Women have largely contributed to the success of this club, especially in the building of a strong social atmosphere. Yes, the Pacific Ladies are well known for their social prowess. Pacific Ladies were “unofficial” until 1949 when they became affiliated with the Queensland Ladies Golf Union and nowadays, they form an integral part of the Pacific Golf Club.

The ladies hold an 18 Hole competition each Tuesday and Thursday from the beginning of February to the end of November. Note: the above ladies comp days are open to all female visitors from Golf Australia clubs or overseas affiliated golf clubs.

The Brisbane Golf Club & The Royal Queensland

Both the Brisbane Golf Club and the Royal Queensland are members only courses but that doesn’t have to mean you won’t get a tee time. If you have a friend and/or colleague who is a member of either club, why not kindly request they extend an invite to you and your friends.

Located in a beautiful tranquil bushland environment, the award winning Brookwater Golf and Country Club is one of Australia’s finest. This Greg Norman designed 18 hole par 72 golf course throws up dramatic bunkering cushioned by undulating fairways and artfully strikes the balance between playability and challenging nicely. The prized Brookwater Restaurant awaits you post round with a relaxed country club vibe. We have to mention that the awesome Ash Barty is a member (and the women’s club champion mind you) here too. The club is approx. 35 mins from the CBD so factor travel time in when reserving your tee time. Bookings essential.

City Stay

The Emporium Hotel

Ph: (07) 3556 3333

The ever glam Emporium is always our preferred place to stay when visiting Brisbane. It’s handy South Bank location (the city’s cultural precinct) means you can travel to any of the Brisbane courses listed here with ease. Plus, it’s the kind of hotel that leaves you wanting for nothing. Sunset rooftop drinks after playing 18? Tick. Rejuvenating plunge pool soak, followed by an expert Japanese style massage at the aptly named Healing Stone day spa. Double tick. How about a Himalayan rock salt sauna floor (glinting with translucent rose quartz bricks) to clear you pores and plausibly your aura? Yes please.

The Emporium Hotel has absolutely everything you need for a 5 star ladies golfing group getaway. Dining options include the opulent setting of Signature restaurant. Hint; the al a carte menu paired with wines from the Emporium’s impressive collection (their spectacular cellar is on display) is your best bet for high end degustation style dining. Keep in mind that you can choose from premium Australian wines or sample a vast selection of international varietals. We’re calling Signature the winner of best wine list in the city – true story! And nope, that’s not just the Billecart champagne bubbles smooth talking.

Meanwhile the ultra-sleek and fashionable (a fine excuse to dress up ladies) The Terrace (bar & dining) boasts an incredible view of the city skyline politely imposing over the Brisbane River. This bar is mixology central so be sure to get your cocktail hour on stat. Expect cool tunes, a relaxed yet glam Queensland atmosphere and a menu that covers all the bases for all kinds of tastes.

Pre-dinner drinks or night cap calling? Good, go directly to the Piano Bar and unwind in a bespoke 1920’s jazz themed room. Opt for the High Tini experience that pairs tiered treats and signature cocktails. The Emporium has Brisbane’s only Maserati hotel car for guest use too – why not book in and get chauffeured to golf in the morning?
