As lower back pain and elbow discomfort can develop from the dynamic and repetitive motions of the golf swing, you can consider popping Therabody’s Theragun mini in your bag, and trying out the following routines for on-the-spot deep muscle treatment, priming your body for precision, performance, and a more powerful swing.
Take stress off your lower back, generate more power in each swing, and reduce your risk of injury
With 30 seconds per muscle, sweep the Theragun mini across your calves, quads, chest, traps, and forearms using the Dampener attachment, then switch to the Standard Ball and target each glute.
The back-9 boost
Mid-round recovery can make a crucial difference on the back 9. Hit your calves, quads, glutes, and lower back for 15-30 seconds each to take pressure off your back in your swing and help relieve lingering discomfort and lactic acid build up in the legs.
Back at the golf club or at home after your day
Sweep the top and bottom of your forearms with the Supersoft attachment for 30 seconds each, followed by 15 seconds of wrist flexion and extension stretches (motioning your wrist up and down).
Finish with 30 seconds of light pressure with the Theragun directly on the area of elbow pain.
